Scope of This Policy

This policy belongs to elmeid.com, the home of Elmeid Tavola, a recipe journal about Sardinian cooking. It explains what information moves through the site while you browse, why any of it exists at all, and where you can exercise control. It covers this website only, and nothing you do after following a link away from it.

Reading Without an Account

Everything published here can be read without registering, logging in, subscribing or handing over an email address. There are no member areas, no saved profiles and no payment of any kind. Because of that, the information connected to a typical visit is limited to what browsers and web servers exchange automatically, which the next section describes.

What the Server Records

When your browser requests a page, our hosting infrastructure receives technical details that every website receives: an IP address, the date and time of the request, the address of the page requested, the browser type and the operating system. These records exist for security, capacity planning and troubleshooting. They are kept in aggregate form, they are not used to build individual profiles, and they are not sold.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to keep. On elmeid.com they may be set by advertising partners (described below) and by ordinary infrastructure services. None of our recipes require cookies to be readable. Every mainstream browser lets you inspect, delete or block cookies through its settings menu, and the site will keep working if you do, though some advertising may become less relevant to you.

Aggregate Measurement

We look at simple, aggregated statistics such as which recipes are read most and which pages visitors arrive on. These numbers describe the audience as a whole. We do not attempt to identify individual readers from them, and we have no interest in doing so.

Correspondence

If you write to us, we receive whatever you choose to include, normally a name, an email address and the message itself. We use it to reply and for nothing else. We do not add correspondents to mailing lists, because we do not operate one.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade visitor information. Information may be disclosed only where the law requires it, or to the technical providers that keep the site online (hosting and content delivery), who process it solely to provide those services.

How Long Information Stays

Server records are rotated on ordinary infrastructure schedules. Email correspondence is kept while a conversation is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted. Cookie lifetimes are controlled by the parties that set them and by your browser settings.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and the little information that exists is held on reputable infrastructure with restricted access. No online system is perfectly secure, but a site that collects almost nothing also has almost nothing to lose.

Younger Visitors

elmeid.com is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct or erase personal information, or to object to its processing. Given how little this site holds, the fastest route is simply to write to us with your request, and we will act on it. You can additionally manage cookies in your browser and adjust ad personalization through the Google links above.

Recipes and articles sometimes link to other websites. Once you follow such a link, the destination's own privacy practices apply. We encourage you to read them, since we neither control nor answer for other publishers.
